The PlexWriter 12x10x32x internal EIDE CD-RW drive stores up to 650 MB of data or 74 minutes of audio on CD-R and CD-RW discs. Working at speeds of up to 32x read, 12x write, and 10x rewrite and boasting a fast disc-access time of 150 milliseconds, the PlexWriter creates a 650 MB disc in six minutes and rewrites a CD-RW disc in just over seven minutes. Using a 2 MB buffer, the PlexWriter is capable of disc-at-once, session-at-once, track-at-once, multisession, and fixed and variable packet-writing methods. Engineered into the PlexWriter, BURN-Proof technology eliminates buffer underrun errors that occur in fast write modes. In addition to compensating for slower source drives, this technology allows the PlexWriter to be used for multitasking, so you can do other things--like send e-mail or surf the Web--while burning CDs. The PlexWriter uses an enhanced IDE (ATAPI) interface and includes software for creating professional-quality audio as well as copying, sharing, storing, and transferring files on disc with drag-and-drop ease.
